This has been a very dreary week. It started well, with my personal stitching retreat on Sunday, but then the week went quickly downhill. On Monday I turned myself at an odd angle and my back went into full spasm, putting me out of commission for the whole day. The rest of the week was damp, cold and raining. The dogs and I were going stir crazy for a bit of sun and fresh air. However, I did manage to gather some momentum as the week came to an end and even manage to get outside and enjoy some nature and sun, albeit I did need a hoodie; I even got some beautiful pictures of our backyard tree which is turning gorgeous shades of purple.
Okay, let’s get into the details.
What I’m Stitching
Like I said, this week began on Sunday with my personal stitching retreat, which I shared my plans for last week. The retreat was a success, even though I would have liked to have made more stitching progress, I enjoyed my time and that is what is important. The piece I am currently stitching is the Happily Ever After SAL from The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery. This is their 2017 year long stitch along, with a new pattern section released every month. When I pulled out Happily Ever After on Sunday, the last section I had finished was the Around The World In 80 Days motif, releases in April. As of today I have finished the Robin Hood motif released in May and started working on Little House on a Prairie, the June release.
I still hope to finish this piece this year, so fingers crossed!
What I’m Reading
Unfortunately, I am still reading Stalking Jack The Ripper. My brain has been foggy this week, due to a combination of muscle relaxers and allergies, so it’s been difficult to concentrate. This means I haven’t made as much reading progress as I usually do. However, I hope to get my mojo back soon so look for a review soon. In the meantime, I recently wrote a review for The Keeper Of Lost Things, make sure and check that out as it gets my highest accolades.
What I’m Watching
This week I decided to get caught up with Blindspot. The last episode I had watched previously was episode 1 of season 2, so I had quite a bit to watch, but since it had been a while since I had seen it and it was a rainy week anyhow, I decided to start at the very beginning. I am now up to season 3, current, and glad to be here. It is a very intriguing show, well written, suspenseful and entertaining. No spoilers here, but they way the writers decided to transition from season 2 into season 3 was very interesting. At first I was upset, I wanted to have seen certain events take place, but as the episodes proceed, I think they made a wise choice. If you like suspenseful, crime drama with a twist, this is definitely the show to watch.
This Week’s Highlights
Friday night we went to the Vintage Fan Fair at the Fairgrounds. It was nice, but the absolute best was the Glamper Showcase! Oh my gosh, I just had so much fun checking out all the vintage campers, seeing how people had restored them and are using them. Not sure if you are aware, but I have a not so secret desire to own a vintage trailer of my own! Anyway, my awesome hubby kept me company as I went in and out of over 2 dozens gorgeous vintage trailers. From Airstreams to Shastas, I had the best time and am so inspired.
That’s all for now I hope you have a great week and thanks for taking the time to read my post.
