Sunday’s Stitches & Stuff – Episode 22

If all goes according to plan, then we are on the road heading for a holiday family visit. Although we are keeping an eye on the snowfall, both here at home and at our destination, hoping it won’t delay us. Ironically, we decided to travel north earlier in the month so as not to be constantly watching the weather and trying to figure out if we had to change our plans. Oh “the best laid plans of mice and men often go a stray”. However, in anticipation that we will be leaving on time I have spent most of the latter part of this week getting the house ready and packing us and the dogs for our trip. Thankfully my wrist, which prevented me from much stitching early on in the week, is feeling better and I’ve been able to get much of my tasks completed. Let’s hope the snow is not a problem and we are driving north as you read this post. Now here are some details about my week.

What I’m Stitching

Unfortunately, I haven’t made much progress on Happily Ever After since Wednesday. My wrist only started to feel better yesterday, but I was able to get the Aladdin and the Enchanted Lamp motif complete. Since we are traveling this week and I am not going to be taking this project on our holiday trip, this is where I will be starting from when I get back.

Don’t worry, I will have some stitching with me this week. Although, I toyed with the idea of bringing Happily Ever After, I ultimately decided not to, fearing I might lose out on some quality family time in lieu of stitching. So I’ve decided to bring my mini project bag instead (read more here S&S Ep 12). While I have two current mini WIPs in there already, Mill Hill Princess Carriage and Busy Bees Mouse, I’ve chosen a small Christmas kit to add to the bundle.

Usually, I get a little bit of time in the mornings and night when we are visiting to unwind, so that’s when these will come out.

What I’m Reading

No reading this week, 😔 well, not books anyway. Currently, I am very intrigued by the zero waste movement, and I have been reading a lot of articles and blogs on the topic. Nothing that I will elaborate on at this time, but maybe in the future.

What I’m Watching

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel; oh my gosh what a show! The night my wrist had started hurting and I couldn’t stitch anymore, I combed through my streaming services for something distracting. That’s when I stumbled on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. I started off just wanting to check out the pilot that night. However, I ended up binge watching the whole season! There are just 10 episodes, so don’t think too poorly of me. This show has to be one of the most intelligent shows on TV right now. Strange thing is, it’s not actually on TV, it is an Amazon Prime Exclusive series. If you have Amazon Prime for the two-day shipping, then you have Prime Video, which means you can, and should, check out the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Here is the trailer:

Warning there is foul language in the trailer.

Weekly Highlights

One of the best highlights from this past week is the Christmas service that we went to at the local church we’ve been attending. It was a Wednesday night service, which they normally have, but this was a special event called Christmas Class. It was a time of fellowship, food, and also learning some things you didn’t know or thought you knew about the Christmas story. It turned out to be a lovely night. Hubby and I had such a great time meeting people and we just had a really enjoyable time that put us into the Christmas spirit.

That’s all for now I hope you have a great week and thanks for taking the time to read my post.
