Happy Wednesday! I hope this finds you well and enjoying life. This week I have been mainly working on my Fabulous Women In History project, with a small deviation on Valentine’s Day. However, my stitching progress was impeded by that rascally Frog! Do you have projects that seem to attract the Frog more than others? For me, it is Fabulous Women in History, and for the life of me I cannot figure out why. Anyway, here is my update.
Fabulous Women in History
Last week I switched over to Fabulous Women in History, the 2017 SAL from Cloudsfactory. The two women featured in February are Virginia Woolf and Marie Curie. Everything was stitching up fine as I started on Virginia Woolf, but as I moved, further along, I found mistake after mistake. I even had to frog a whole section of the top border. Also, while I love the coloring in the Weeks Dye Works floss, the Capri is giving me a tough time. No matter what I do it never looks right. All well, I keep moving forward.
Love Potions
Last Wednesday, Valentine’s Day, I celebrated by working on a Mill Hill magnet kit, Love Potions. It is from the same collection as Princess Carriage, Autumn Harvest Collection. Working with the Mill Hill kits is becoming addictive. The only issue is that I sometimes have to wait until I have an oppurtunity to sit in a “safe” zone to work on the beading. So Love Potions is all stitched and waiting for its bling.
Ex-Machina
This week I want to share my plans for my Heaven And Earth Designs project, Ex-Machina. This is my first BAP (Big Ass Project), my first full coverage piece, and the smallest count fabric I have ever worked on. With those factors in place, working on Ex-Machina, does not fit into the usual routine I have for my day to day stitching. Since this project is definitely going to be a long standing WIP, I’ve decided to attack it with a different strategy.
With agreement from my husband, once a month, I am going to dedicate an entire Sunday (We go to Church on Saturday nights.) to working on Ex-Machina. The entire day! No cooking, no cleaning, just stitching! Of course I will make sure the dogs and cat are fed and let out, but other than that I am stitching. Why am I sharing this bit on information with you now? Because this coming Sunday is my first HAED day! I’m sure I’ll be posting pictures on Instagram if you want to check them out, otherwise check back next Wednesday to find out how it went.
Well that’s my cross stitching this week, thanks for checking in & happy stitching!
I love the little love potions cross stitch! I absolutely hate frogging I have to put what ever I’m working on and walk away just to calm down!
