WIP Wednesday – Episode 33

Happy Wednesday! I hope this finds you well and enjoying life. This week I have a few WIPs to share since last Wednesday, so let’s get right to it.

Fabulous Women in History by Cloudsfactory, 2017 SAL

Last week I shared how much the frog loves my Fabulous Women piece. Well, I held him at bay long enough to get Virginia Woolf & Marie Curie finished! I still feel like the Capri floss (kinda sea foam green color) gives me more trouble than any other floss, but I do like how the ladies turned out. I still intend on redoing Coco’s chandelier, but I needed to move on, so I will take a look at that when the piece comes out again in March.

Spring Quilts, by Leisure Arts, Five Seasons of Quilts

Since I was not in the mood for a new start and the weather here in NC is giving a glimpse of Spring, I decided to pullout my Spring Quilts piece and start working on the next quilt in line. So Far I have had a love/hate relationship with this project, but ever since I got my Millennium Frame, it is much nicer working on it. Also, I really love the repetitive nature of the pattern for the quilt I am working on right now, it is very soothing. However, I do not enjoy working on the linen, stitching over two. While I’m glad I gave it a try, I will not chose linen again for the next patterns in the series.

A few progress pics for Spring Quilts:

Mini Ex-Machina, by Heaven And Earth Designs

Sunday was my first HAED day, and I think it went fairly well. I finished a complete 10×10 block on page one, so that’s a total of two blocks done. May not seem like much, but this is going to be a slow but steady piece. The fabric is 25 count and I am doing fullstitches over one and that is not the easiest, I am finding. When I started work on the second block, I decided to give the parking method a try. Not sure if I’m doing it “correctly”, but I am doing it in a way that makes sense for me, at that’s what is important. Once I have fewer threads to start, i.e. they are parked, I think it will go much faster.

Here’s a peek at my progress:

Well that’s my stitching this past week, I plan on working on Spring Quilts until Sunday, then I will switch over to Into The Jungle with the third block being released today!

Also, today being the end of the month, it’s time to look back at what I stitched in February :

Thanks for checking in & happy stitching!
