Welcome back to another episode of Sunday’s Stitches & Stuff, a weekly chat about stitching and, well, other stuff. As I’m sure you are aware, based on the predominant content on this blog, cross stitching is my number one past time and there are three things I enjoy doing while I am cross stitching.
- Enjoy the sounds of nature from my porch
- Listen to music or audiobooks
- Binge watch TV Shows.
It is the last item that I thought I would talk about today.
Streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu, have changed the way we consume entertainment. Does anyone remember when you had to be home at a certain time to see that season finale you’ve been waiting for? Or better yet, remember trying to figure out how to set your VCR to record your show, in case you weren’t home in time?
That seems to be ancient history now. While some people still enjoy tuning in to their favorite show when it first airs, many people are waiting until those shows hit the streaming services providing the opportunity to watch an entire season in one or two sittings. Giving birth to the term Binge Watching or Netflix & Chill.
Personally, I prefer Binge Watching over staying up to date with a show, with the exception of The Amazing Race and World of Dance. For me, it is more convenient to be able to watch a show when I’m ready and to watch multiple episodes back to back if I have the time. So when I sit down to stitch, if I’m in the mood for TV, I just pick up right where I was with the show I was watching.
Currently, I am watching Person of Interest via Netflix. It is 5 seasons long and I am in the middle of season 3. It is a fairly good show with an interesting storyline and lots of action and character development. Best of all, it works out really well in the background while I’m stitching. What I mean is, I don’t find myself watching the screen more than my stitching.
In case you enjoy Binge Watching while stitching or doing other crafts, I thought I would share some of my favorite Binge Worthy Shows. This depends largely on what you like to watch, but my top recommendations would be:
